More than 260,000 users have moved to other telecommunications companies following the SK Telecom hacking incident.

According to the telecommunications industry on the 8th, the number of users who moved from when the SK Telecom server hacking was confirmed on the 22nd of last month to the day before was 262,890.

By telecommunications company, 148,010 users moved to KT, while 114,880 users moved to LG Uplus. However, the scale of movement showed a declining trend. From the peak of crisis on the 28th of last month to early this month, the number of users who moved was around 20,000, while on the 5th and 6th, it decreased to around 7,000.

Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, offered a public apology regarding the hacking incident and promised to resolve the issues. Regarding the waiver of cancellation fees, he noted they are reviewing user fairness and legal issues, and that the SK Telecom board is discussing this matter.
