KT launched a service integrated with Microsoft (MS) collaboration solution Teams.

KT announced on the 7th that it has launched the 'MS Teams Phone' service, which connects its communication network with Teams. Teams, which integrates with various applications, including MS 365, provides a range of collaboration features such as real-time chat, voice and video calls, online meetings, and file collaboration.

KT decided last year to collaborate with Microsoft (MS) for five years on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, and information technology (IT) fields, amounting to 2.4 trillion won. The MS Teams Phone was also launched based on the strategic partnership between the two companies. KT noted regarding the MS Teams Phone, "It allows the use of office phones without establishing communication infrastructure, and efficient IT operations are possible with minimized management and maintenance," adding that "it is expected to meet the needs of global corporations with domestic and international branches, or companies that have many field operations or wish to use office phone numbers on mobile devices." It explained that existing corporate office communication services required separate communication devices such as private branch exchanges (PBX) or desk phones, and this solution could alleviate the inconveniences faced by such clients.

Employees of corporations that adopted the MS Teams Phone can utilize phone functions through the Teams program on mobile environments such as smartphones or tablets, as well as PCs. Additionally, the app easily assigns and sets office numbers without exposing employees' personal mobile phone numbers, facilitating work. Various Teams' work solutions, including AI personal assistants for scheduling, content creation, and meeting analysis, can also be implemented.

Myung Je-hun, head of KT Enterprise Service Product Division (Executive Director), said, "With the launch of the MS Teams Phone service, we have established an environment where employees of client companies can communicate more conveniently and smartly," adding, "We will continue to develop communication services that allow customers to experience innovative services in the future."
