Samsung Display announced on the 7th that Lee Jong-hyuk, head of its large display business division (vice president), has been selected as a recipient of the Special Recognition Award from the Society for Information Display (SID).
Vice President Lee will receive the 'Special Recognition Award' given by SID to experts who contribute to the advancement of display technology and the industry.
SID noted that Lee contributed to the development and commercialization of premium organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology and the commercialization of quantum dot (QD)-OLED displays.
Having expertise in OLED technology overall, Vice President Lee led the commercialization of OLED by developing high-efficiency device structures and thin-film encapsulation materials and processes for flexible OLEDs.
In addition, he led the 2018 QD commercialization project as its overall and development leader, securing the development of high color purity QD-OLED products and stable processes with 8.5-generation large inkjet printing technology.
The awards ceremony will take place during 'SID Display Week 2025' from the 11th to the 16th (local time) in San Jose, California.
