Kakao announced on the 6th that it will introduce a reaction feature that reacts in real time to expressions of emotion such as congratulations and thank you messages exchanged in KakaoTalk chat rooms in celebration of Family Month.
The reaction feature automatically recognizes meaningful keywords, such as congratulations or thank you messages, within the user's conversation flow and displays visual effects like fireworks and flower showers in the chat room. In honor of Parents' Day, effects related to thank you messages will be offered temporarily until the 8th, while keywords related to birthday celebrations will be applied year-round.
When a user inputs keywords like 'happy birthday' or 'thank you, parents,' banners for 'fireworks in the chat room' and 'flower shower in the chat room' will be displayed, and clicking on them will apply visual effects. Additionally, the KakaoTalk gift service is directly connected for convenient use. This feature is provided in a mini web view optimized for mobile environments and can be used in 1:1 chat rooms, group chat rooms, and team chat rooms without separate settings.
Kakao has operated seasonal events where visual effects are applied when specific keywords are entered on holidays or special days, and this feature is an example of extending that to emotional expressions in everyday conversations.
A Kakao official noted, 'We will continue to connect the various emotions and contexts expressed through messages to provide a warmer and more meaningful communication experience.'
