LG Uplus noted on the 6th that its budget mobile phone exclusive platform 'AlDot' has surpassed 300,000 subscribers just one year after its launch.
Launched in May of last year, AlDot is an online platform that compares over 600 budget mobile phone plans and supports non-face-to-face self-activation. Users can compare the plans of 25 budget mobile phone providers that utilize the LG Uplus network and easily activate their chosen plan.
LG Uplus cited enhanced customer convenience functions, such as 'AlDot Care,' as a reason for the expansion of AlDot subscribers. 'AlDot Care' supports checking subscriber information and data usage, and has recorded 390,000 usage cases just four months after its introduction in January.
Additionally, it has launched features enabling self-activation for foreigners and minors, as well as a plan recommendation feature based on usage pattern analysis, to secure a diverse user base.
To celebrate the first anniversary of AlDot, LG Uplus will hold a promotion throughout May, offering Melon streaming coupons and Starbucks dessert coupons to subscribers of plans over 15GB. In addition, an event will also run until the 15th, allowing customers who signed up for various discount plans to choose one item from drinks, fast food, or ice cream.
In the future, self-application features for value-added communication services such as roaming and the internet will be added to AlDot, and the 'AlDot Care' function will also be enhanced.
Kwon Oh-seok, head of MVNO business at LG Uplus, said, 'We will enhance AlDot services to increase customer convenience and strengthen coexistence with small and medium-sized providers,' adding, 'We will continue to ensure that customers can easily access a variety of communication services on AlDot.'
