As a result of the SK Telecom hacking incident, more than 30,000 subscribers moved to other carriers on the 29th. In the two days since the free SIM card replacement began, more than 70,000 users have switched to other carriers.

According to the telecommunications industry on the 30th, 35,902 subscribers of SK Telecom moved to other carriers the previous day.

Among the 21,002 subscribers who switched to KT, 20,294 came from SK Telecom. Of the 16,275 who moved to LG Uplus, 15,608 were from SK Telecom.

The number of subscribers who moved from KT and LG Uplus to SK Telecom was 3,262, resulting in a net decrease of 32,640 subscribers for SK Telecom on the 29th.

KT gained 18,829 subscribers, while LG Uplus increased by 13,811, absorbing the demand for number portability from SK Telecom.

On the first day of the free SIM card replacement on the 28th, 34,132 subscribers of SK Telecom left for other carriers, while 8,729 newly subscribed, resulting in a net loss of 25,403.

In the first weekend after the hacking incident, there was a daily net decrease of about 1,000, but at the beginning of the week, the net loss of subscribers continued in the range of 20,000 to 30,000.

Including users who moved to budget phones, the scale of the exodus is expected to be even larger.
