GBike, which operates ‘GCOO,’ announced on the 30th that it received the ‘LOTUS Green Service Provider’ certification from the Vietnam Green Building Council (VGBC) at the event titled ‘Hue – Leading Development of Eco-Friendly Tourism and Bicycle City’ held in Vietnam.
This certification is a case where GCOO’s eco-friendly short-distance mobility service was officially recognized for sustainability and social value even locally in Vietnam, and it was awarded at the Om Monument Square in front of the Hue Imperial Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
GCOO co-hosted the event with the Vietnam VGBC and the Hue Heritage Preservation Center and garnered attention as an eco-friendly transportation model based on electric bicycles within the heritage site.
GBike realized sustainable mobility solutions through cooperation with the institutional sector, based on its experience in an electric bicycle commuting support project with the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province for this project in Vietnam.
The electric bicycle service of GCOO simultaneously meets the convenience, efficiency, and eco-friendliness of urban short-distance mobility, contributing to the establishment of sustainable urban transport infrastructure both domestically and internationally, according to the company.
Yoon Jong-soo, CEO of GBike, said, ‘Short-distance mobility services are key infrastructure enabling a sustainable future beyond just a means of transportation,’ and he noted, ‘Based on the proven model in Jeju and Hue, we will grow into a leading global ESG corporation.’
