On the 29th, HANCOM and KT announced that they signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enter the public sector artificial intelligence (AI) market.

The two companies plan to promote the digital transformation of public institutions together through this agreement and collaborate to expand the domestic AI ecosystem. The core focus will be on the joint discovery and commercialization of AI-based services targeting the public sector, strengthening collaboration systems for the planning and participation in public projects, the development and application of domestic AI solutions, and research and development using public data. Additionally, they plan to establish a foundation for AI-related collaboration through seminars and surveys of domestic and international cases.

HANCOM has been developing various AI products based on document processing technology. The company is continuously enhancing AI intelligent document creation tools like HANCOM Assistant and AI-based question-and-answer solutions such as HANCOMpedia, aiming to secure public customized AI technology. This year, they participated in a project to establish the National Assembly big data platform, showcasing specialized AI services for the National Assembly.

KT is expanding its public sector AI business after signing an agreement with the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs to innovate veteran administration work using AI, and by winning a bid to establish the K-Water digital platform aimed at the digital transformation of water management technology in the Korea Water Resources Corporation.

The two companies are aiming to strengthen competitiveness in the public AI market through this agreement, with a goal of creating synergy through technology convergence and service linkage. They plan to continuously showcase field-oriented customized AI solutions to respond to the diverse needs of public institutions.
