SK Telecom has seen users open a joint response site and launched a petition to the National Assembly following the incident where subscriber user SIM (USIM) information was stolen in a hacking attack.
According to the IT industry on the 28th, the 'SKT USIM Hacking Joint Response Official Website' has been established. The organizers claimed, "The leaked information is highly likely to lead to secondary damage in finance, social networking services (SNS), etc., but SK Telecom's response has been insufficient." They added, "As the scope and scale of the damage have not been clearly identified, users' anxiety is growing."
They are urging a thorough investigation into the facts and assessment of the damage scale through the National Assembly petition, calling for a responsible response from SK Telecom and demanding the government to establish effective damage relief and prevention measures. The National Assembly petition is currently underway with a goal of over 50,000 signatures.
Additionally, they requested an investigation into whether SK Telecom violated its terms and conditions with the Ministry of Science and ICT and are conducting a survey for a class-action lawsuit among subscribers. A portal site has established the 'SK Telecom Personal Information Leak Class Action Café,' which reportedly saw 3,000 members join within a day.
