KT announced on the 27th that it held a developer workshop "Have a Git Day" at its Pangyo headquarters on the 25th, following the strategic partnership with the world's leading developer platform "GitHub."

"Have a Git Day" is an event where KT invited high-skilled developers and IT experts from the domestic industry to share the latest technology trends and collaboration methods using GitHub. Currently, there are over 2.2 million GitHub developers active in Korea, but cases of corporations officially adopting GitHub AI functionalities are rare.

Starting in 2024, KT will take the lead among domestic large corporations by introducing GitHub Enterprise and the AI coding assistant "GitHub Copilot" into its development work to enhance productivity and reduce employee workload.

At the workshop, KT IT Development Division employees shared their experiences on the theme "Adapting GitHub Enterprise: Soaring with Copilot Beyond Trial and Error," discussing the IT innovation processes and experiences within large organizations. They specifically introduced practical innovation solutions such as reducing build pipeline construction time through the automation tool "GitHub Actions" and automating GitHub license management.

Following that, a senior specialist from Microsoft presented on the theme "Enjoyable Development with AI: Mastering GitHub Copilot," demonstrating coding methods utilizing various AI functionalities of GitHub Copilot.

KT formed a strategic partnership with GitHub last month, attended by KT Technology Innovation Division Head Oh Seung-pil and GitHub CEO Thomas Domke. The two companies agreed to collaborate in various fields, including technology development, market entry, joint marketing, and solution development.

Through this workshop, KT aims to expand the Korean developer ecosystem as an extension of the strategic partnership.

Jeon Seung-rok, head of the GTM Division, noted, "As an AICT company, KT will proactively introduce and validate the latest AI technologies internally and support customer-tailored AX based on this. We will take the lead in enabling Korean developers to drive innovation at the forefront of AI."
