Microsoft (MS) has officially launched the 'Recall' feature, which remembers users' work in Windows.

According to the IT media outlet The Verge on the 26th (local time), MS noted that on the 25th, it previewed the Recall feature as part of a Windows update in the 'Copilot+ PC'.

Recall is a feature that captures screenshots at regular intervals when a user operates the PC, making it easy to look back at work records later. It gained attention for its ability to remember work content for easy verification but had to be delayed due to privacy concerns.

The Recall feature is provided in an 'opt-in' manner, meaning users must activate it themselves. MS explained that the stored data is encrypted and saved in a separate space on the PC, and will not be sent externally.

MS stated that the time spent searching for transfer work would be reduced by 70%.

Additionally, the Windows search function of Copilot+ PC has been improved to be AI-based. When entering descriptive search terms like 'black cat' instead of file names in File Explorer or the search bar, AI analyzes the file contents to find the results. MS noted that this feature also enhances search speed by about 70%.

This update also added a shortcut feature called 'Click to Do'. By clicking the Windows key and the left mouse button simultaneously, users can summarize or edit text or images without opening a separate app.

The text editing feature is currently supported only on Qualcomm-based devices and is expected to be available on AMD and Intel-based PCs within the next few months.

Meanwhile, the Recall and Click to Do features will be prioritized in regions excluding the European Union (EU), Iceland, and Norway, with availability expected in Europe by the end of the year.
