LG Display announced on the 27th that it has received certification for the "Product Carbon Footprint Methodology" from the global testing and certification organization TUV Rheinland.
This certification is awarded to corporations that have established a system and framework for quantitatively calculating carbon emissions throughout the entire product lifecycle according to international standards.
LG Display has established a product carbon footprint assessment system based on the international standard ISO 14067 to proactively respond to the growing demand for low-carbon products and the increasing requests for certification information. This system meets all essential standards, including data collection and calculation, impact assessment methods, and has optimized its assessment methods specifically for the display industry.
Additionally, LG Display has built its own IT system for product carbon footprint assessment. This system allows for the quick calculation of carbon footprint figures by simply entering the basic product information, linking with existing product development system data without requiring separate additional work.
Through this certification, LG Display has externally demonstrated that it is managing carbon emissions transparently and systematically. It is expected that based on this, the company will actively respond to the demands of global customers and other key stakeholders, further enhancing its competitiveness in eco-friendly products.
Park Jeong-gi, head of the medium development group at LG Display, noted, "This certification is a significant achievement that shows our eco-friendly product management system has secured global credibility," and added, "We will continue to strive for the development of various technologies for transparent ESG management based on quantitative data."
