On the 25th, Google Play announced that it has selected 100 participating corporations for the 'Channel Program 7th phase' to support the growth and overseas expansion of domestic mobile app and game startups in collaboration with the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Startup Promotion Agency.
The 'Channel Program' is a public-private partnership initiative that discovers promising mobile app and game startups and supports content enhancement, business growth, and global expansion, marking its seventh phase this year. The selected corporations were evaluated based on content quality, innovation, and global potential.
The top 3 corporations include ▲ Jamjam Therapeutics (Children's fine motor rehabilitation game 'Jamjam400'), ▲ Detail Games (Survival roguelike game 'Aliens Are Hungry'), and ▲ Moonis (Brainwave-based sleep improvement app 'Nightly'). Additionally, various startups such as ▲ Trinity Guardians, ▲ Subil: Supervillain Wanted, ▲ Rideok, ▲ Homeden, ▲ Pomelo, ▲ Nomadhell, and ▲ Money Guard were included in the top 10.
The characteristics of this year's Channel Program 7th phase corporations can be summarized as customized technologies that solve specific user group issues based on artificial intelligence (AI), casual, roguelike, and idle games that can be easily enjoyed in a short time, and platform development aimed at the global market.
Startups utilizing AI include ▲ a rehabilitation game for children with autism 'Pinkfong and Jamjam Friends', ▲ 'STREAM', where users learn K-pop dance through AI feedback, ▲ an AI-based voice interaction parenting toy 'Catitime', and ▲ a learning app 'Solb', using AI content extraction technology. In the gaming sector, titles like ▲ Denver's Forest: Merge&Cozy and ▲ Raccoons Store stand out as enjoyable games in everyday life.
Platforms targeting overseas markets have also increased. Notable examples include the AI learning management solution '2D' specialized for the Vietnamese education market, the AI social platform 'Moji' aimed at the Global Z+Alpha generation, and 'Six Clash', targeting the cricket market in India.
Participating startups will receive a variety of programs such as 'Channel Growth Support Seminar', Google Tech Seminar, investor networking, cloud credits, and 'VC Office Hours'. Corporations utilizing AI will also be offered participation opportunities in 'Channel AI Study Jam' and 'Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First'. Excellent participants will receive benefits such as one-on-one consulting, a global immersion program, and marketing support.
Kim Kyung-hoon, CEO of Google Korea, said, "It is always a pleasure to meet startups entering the market with creative ideas and services each year," and noted, "This year as well, we will strive to serve as a foundation that helps realize the potential of domestic developers."
