Adobe announced on the 25th that it has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI)-based content creation app called 'Firefly' that can generate images, videos, audio, vectors, and more.
Firefly integrates AI features that were previously provided in Adobe apps into a single web-based app, allowing creators to conceive, generate, edit, and produce content in one space. With this app version launch, Adobe has enabled the selection of external generative AI models from partners such as OpenAI and Google Cloud, in addition to its own AI model.
Key features introduced this time include 'Firefly Image Model 4' for rapidly generating realistic images, 'Image Model 4 Ultra' for precisely rendering complex scenes, and 'Firefly Video Model' for creating 1080p videos from text or images. The 'Text-to-Vector' feature, which allows users to create vector-based artwork by entering simple sentences, has also been officially launched.
Adobe offers a workspace within the Firefly app, called 'Firefly Board,' in beta form, that visualizes creative concepts and enables collaboration. It is designed for creating mood boards, storyboards, and experimenting with various transformation ideas.
The features for corporations have also been expanded. Through the 'Firefly Service,' which integrates a generative AI-based content creation API, it provides functionalities such as image editing, video conversion, and content automation, with Photoshop API, Text-to-Video API, and Avatar API to be introduced sequentially.
David Wardwani, president of Adobe's digital media institutional sector, noted, 'Firefly is designed to shift the creative production process towards an AI-centric model by integrating image, video, audio, and vector generation capabilities into one space,' adding, 'Users can choose from various partner models including Adobe, OpenAI, and Google to continue creating in a way that suits them.'
Currently, the Firefly app is available as a web-based application, while a mobile version is expected to be released later.
