On the 24th, LG Display said during its conference call discussing the first quarter 2025 earnings that the business impact of the U.S. tariff policy has caused confusion among TV set manufacturers due to short-term changes in the tariff policy, but currently believes that the tariff impact on the TV panel business is limited. It also noted, "Since tariffs are an issue for set manufacturers, we will do our best to secure supply flexibility with our customers in the current situation."
Regarding the tariff impact on the small panel business, it stated, "While the uncertainty due to tariffs clearly exists, our customers are primarily responding by diversifying production locations and are currently monitoring future trends," adding, "In the smartphone business, we are operating without significant changes compared to the initial plan." It emphasized, "Given the potential volatility in the Chonbang market, we will closely communicate with our customers to respond swiftly to changes in the situation."
