Kakao announced on the 24th that its content publishing platform "Brunch Story" will hold the "2025 Copyright Writing Contest" in collaboration with the Korea Copyright Commission. This contest is hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, with Brunch Story and the Korea Copyright Commission serving as co-organizers.
The 2025 Copyright Writing Contest was organized to promote a culture of interest and respect for copyright and to provide opportunities for creative experiences in daily life. The theme of the contest is "free topics related to copyright," and any South Korean citizen aged 6 and older can submit a poem or prose work individually. The submission period extends until June 15.
Brunch writers can automatically submit their works by entering the keywords "Brunch X Copyright Commission" and "submission category_poem" or "submission category_prose" when publishing on Brunch Story.
If not a Brunch writer, participants can join after receiving writer approval on Brunch Story or apply through the Korea Copyright Commission contest website.
This contest will select a total of 18 award-winning works, including 1 grand award (Prime Minister's Award) and 2 gold awards in each institutional sector (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award).
The total prize money amounts to 10.1 million won. The judging panel consists of 18 members, including 8 experts in the fields of literature and copyright law for the first and second rounds of judging, and 10 public judges selected considering region, gender, and age, who will undergo a six-stage review process.
