Smilegate announced the annual operational plan for the global esports league 'CFS 2025' and revealed the official start of the 'Crossfire' league season on the 23rd.
CFS 2025 will hold global competitions throughout the year, centered around regional professional leagues in China, Brazil, Vietnam, and West, including the Asian Champions League (ACL) in May, the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Saudi Arabia in August, and the 'CFS 2025 Grand Final' in December.
In the first half of the year, competitions will take place for EWC qualification through various regional leagues, including ACL and the Philippines Masters League. The ACL championship team will receive a direct ticket to the EWC, and seeds will be given to the top teams in each regional professional league.
In the second half of the year, regional qualifiers will begin under the name 'CFS PATH 25,' and the teams selected through these qualifiers will compete for the title of the world's strongest team at the CFS Grand Final in December.
Smilegate aims to create a sustainable esports ecosystem through an annual league structure, moving away from one-off events, and to provide fans with a more cohesive narrative and immersive experience.
Yeobong Ho, Deputy Minister of Smilegate, said, 'CFS is evolving into a platform that grows alongside global fans, beyond just a simple tournament,' adding, 'We ask for your great interest and support for the journey of Crossfire global esports that will continue throughout 2025.'
