On the 22nd, Oracle announced that it will provide Oracle databases at Google Cloud to the customers of both companies through a partnership with Google Cloud.
With this partner program, Google Cloud and Oracle partners can purchase Oracle databases at Google Cloud through private offers on the Google Cloud Marketplace and resell them to customers. Database services based on Oracle Exadata X11M are also supported.
Karan Batta, senior vice president of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, noted that "this service signifies a turning point in the multicloud market" and emphasized that "this collaboration will be another milestone."
Andy Gutmanns, vice president and general manager of Google Cloud databases, said that "the partner program is part of an effort to provide customers with better flexibility and technical choices."
