Dassault Systèmes announced on the 22nd that it will partner with UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) and the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) to spread sustainable technology through virtual twins.
As part of this collaboration, the 'World Engineering Day (WED)' hub, which started in March and will operate until March of next year, will focus on highlighting efforts to achieve Dassault Systèmes' sustainable development goals (SDGs) 4 - quality education, 12 - responsible consumption and production, and 13 - climate action through customer support and the cultivation of academic and research ecosystems.
A special video created for World Engineering Day showcases various cases of how virtual twins are driving sustainable innovation in key industries such as manufacturing, infrastructure and urban development, and life sciences and healthcare, and supporting corporations in achieving their climate goals. The importance of virtual twin technology education for the next generation of engineers is also emphasized.
Over the next year, Dassault Systèmes will share insights into the importance of engineering and the role of technology in sustainable innovation through various events, videos, and articles conducted as part of the World Engineering Day campaign. The company noted that this partnership holds special significance as it celebrates the 80th anniversary of UNESCO's founding, the 10th anniversary of the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the 4th anniversary of Dassault Systèmes' signing of the United Nations Global Compact.
