An early heatwave has been forecasted compared to previous years, and it has been determined that the use of smart applications to self-check air conditioners has increased.

According to LG Electronics on the 20th, the number of air conditioner inspections using the 'Smart Diagnosis' feature of the LG ThinQ app, part of LG Electronics' smart home platform, more than doubled compared to the same period last year.

The Smart Diagnosis feature checks the inverter, fan motor, compressor, temperature and pressure sensors, and refrigerant status of the air conditioners linked with LG ThinQ, providing information about their condition. Due to its ability to check easily with just one app without complex operations, it has become a useful alternative for single-person households and office workers who find it difficult to receive inspection services during weekdays.

LG Electronics has created air conditioner inspection guides with videos and images to enable anyone to follow along easily, covering power connection checks, indoor unit filter inspections, outdoor unit status checks, and cooling tests. It has enhanced accessibility by providing sign language and subtitles for socially underrepresented individuals. The content surpassed 550,000 cumulative views just two weeks after being posted on the LG Electronics website.

LG Electronics has expanded the smart diagnosis service to various household appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and air purifiers, in addition to air conditioners. If repairs are needed based on the smart diagnosis results, service engineers can identify the malfunctioning parts in advance based on the inspection data, preparing the necessary parts to shorten the repair period.

A representative from LG Electronics said, "It seems to reflect users' tendency toward 'smart consumption' as they seek to check their air conditioners in advance and take necessary measures," adding, "We will continue to expand user-centric convenience services to enable users to easily check their products and recognize issues proactively."
