Creators active on Naver's short form (short video) service "Clip" are now able to utilize sound sources owned by the global record label Universal Music.

On the 18th, Naver announced that it would establish a collaborative relationship with Universal Music to support Clip creators. The aim is to enable the creation of clips using Universal Music sound sources, thereby revitalizing short form content.

Clip creators can utilize sound sources from 2.1 million global artists, including The Beatles, Taylor Swift, and Billie Eilish. Last month, Naver also added sound sources from various genres, such as K-POP, indie, and jazz.

Naver also updated the Clip editor. A feature has been added that recommends newly released songs or popular sound sources from Clips to help users better discover suitable sound sources for their videos. Users can also gather frequently used sound sources.

From this month, Naver Clip has been running a new location challenge titled "Today{Here}Clip." This event rewards users with Naver Pay points for freely sharing hot places or locations that match their preferences, without any thematic restrictions.

Kim Ayung, leader of Naver Clip, noted, "Last month, the production volume of Clips increased more than five times compared to the previous year, indicating rapid growth for Clips. With this contract supporting Universal Music's sound sources, we expect to see a more diverse range of Clips produced."
