On the 17th, LG CNS announced its expansion into global business by entering the smart city technology sector in New York City and Hogansville, Georgia.
LG CNS has signed a pilot project contract with the New York City Economic Development Corporation to establish electric vehicle charging stations and control systems, and will build a charging station and real-time energy data control system at the Brooklyn Army Terminal. Along with this, an app will also be provided that allows users to check the charging status and make reservations.
The control system will utilize LG CNS's proprietary smart city platform "Cityhub Building," allowing for facility monitoring through sensors, energy management, and digital signage operations. LG CNS also plans to promote the supply business for ultra-fast chargers and energy storage systems (ESS) in the future.
In Hogansville, smart streetlights and related infrastructure will be built in the downtown area and parks, enhancing urban safety and convenience through functions such as lighting control, public Wi-Fi, artificial intelligence (AI) CCTV, and environmental sensing sensors. Additionally, emergency call buttons will be installed to strengthen the public safety response system.
Beginning with this project, there are also plans to expand to nearby cities such as LaGrange and West Point in Georgia.
LG CNS President Hyun Shin-kyun noted, "The establishment of smart city infrastructure in the U.S. is a testament to LG CNS's accumulated DX capabilities and expertise recognized in the global market," and added, "We will take the lead in expanding eco-friendly smart city infrastructure in the U.S. and creating a sustainable future."
