Roh Tae-Moon, head of Samsung Electronics' Mobile Experience (MX) division, delivered his second message on the 16th after concurrently serving as the acting head of the Device Experience (DX) division, stating, "I will focus even more on discovering new businesses for future growth." While he sent an email to all employees of the DX division on the 11th, this message was delivered only to members of the MX division.
According to Samsung Electronics, Roh, in his email to MX division employees that day, emphasized the importance of discovering new businesses, saying, "Going forward, I plan to focus more on operating sales, which is a core element of design and user experience (UX) and revenue expansion, as the head of the division."
Since the passing of the late Vice Chairman Han Jong-Hee (head of the DX division) on the 1st, Roh has also taken on the role of head of the DX division. The company established a Chief Operating Officer (COO) position in the MX division to ensure that Roh oversees the DX business and fills the leadership gap.
In an internal message that day, Roh explained the role of Choi Won-Jun, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the MX division. He said, "He will be responsible for the supply-side organization, which underpins product competitiveness, including quality, customer experience (CX), manufacturing, and procurement," adding, "The division of roles is intended to secure faster and more flexible decision-making and bold execution under clear responsibilities."
The situation in the mobile market is changing rapidly as the Donald Trump administration announces it will effectively impose high reciprocal tariffs on the world. Roh remarked, "The MX division has grown through constant changes and challenges, and change continues even at this moment." He added, "Especially in the mobile market, quick judgment and execution are more important than ever."
He further noted, "While I feel a heavy responsibility taking on a significant new role that requires leading not only MX but also the entire DX sector in the midst of sudden environmental changes, I have confidence that we can succeed together with all employees."
Earlier, in an internal email sent to DX division employees, Roh urged, "Let’s reorganize existing work methods and create an efficient and agile organizational culture," and emphasized, "Let’s collaborate organically between divisions under the 'One Samsung' motto."
