Samsung Electronics has decided to temporarily suspend the update for its integrated artificial intelligence (AI) platform 'One UI 7.'
On the 15th, Samsung Electronics noted in the Samsung Members community, 'We have been conducting the One UI 7 update for models such as the Galaxy S24 series and Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 since the 7th of this month, but we have temporarily suspended the update due to some issues that need to be addressed. We plan to resume the update shortly after the review.'
Samsung Electronics announced that it would carry out the One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 6, Galaxy Tab S10 series, Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 series in March.
One UI 7 simplifies the user interface (UI) and allows real-time activities to be checked directly on the lock screen via the Now bar. It includes AI features such as 'AI Select,' which understands context on the screen and provides functions like translation and generative editing; 'Writing Assist,' which offers text summarization and translation functions; and 'Audio Eraser,' which can remove noise or wind sounds from videos.
Samsung Electronics was scheduled to update more models with One UI 7 in the future, but bugs, including failures to unlock on some devices already updated, occurred.
Samsung Electronics stated, 'We apologize to customers who have experienced inconvenience,' and noted, 'We will resume the update as early as possible.'
