Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced on the 14th that it has begun support for the Korean language through the language expansion of Amazon Q Developer. Various development tasks, including architecture discussions, documentation, interface design, and application building within Amazon Q Developer, have become possible in Korean.

Amazon Q Developer features artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities that understand code and write documentation in the language used by developers. It can also design interfaces. It analyzes issues in the code in real-time and offers solutions. The company noted, “By clearly explaining the root causes of problems and presenting solutions beyond simply identifying risks, it helps developers quickly perform repetitive tasks,” adding that “developers can efficiently implement safe and reliable code while simultaneously enhancing productivity and quality across various development tasks.”

AWS expects that this language support expansion will reduce the time developers spend on repetitive and manual tasks. This is because it has become possible to use the program without issues even in situations where they need to understand source code or comments written in other languages, such as English. Developers can ask Amazon Q Developer questions and request explanations in Korean regarding code or comments written in English.

The expanded language features can be accessed directly within the Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and the Command Line Interface (CLI).
