SK Telecom, KT, LG Uplus, and other telecommunications companies announced on the 11th that they will conduct a visible coloring "V Color Ring" donation campaign in collaboration with Professor Seok Kyung-deok from Sungshin Women's University to mark the 80th anniversary of liberation.

The telecommunications companies plan to release videos featuring the stories of lesser-known independence activists on the V Color Ring YouTube channel, with one video set to debut in April and another in June to commemorate the 80th anniversary of liberation this year.

The first video, which will be released on the date of the establishment of the provisional government, covers the life story of independence activist Kim Kyu-sik. Actor Kim Nam-gil participated in the narration.

If V Color Ring customers set the relevant video as their visible coloring, part of the monthly subscription fee (3,300 won) will be donated to Kyun-gyo-jang, the last office of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea. Kyun-gyo-jang, which is currently operated as a branch of the Seoul Museum of History, has become outdated since its opening to the public in 2013 and needs improvements.

"V Color Ring" is a service co-operated by telecommunications companies that shows a video I have set to the person calling me.

Professor Seok Kyung-deok noted, "This will be a meaningful event to inform many people about the stories of independence activists who are not well known to us and also to contribute to a historically significant place through V Color Ring."
