LG Electronics announced on the 10th that it has established a system to quickly transport and treat severe emergency patients using a doctor helicopter at its business sites.

Recently, LG Electronics signed an emergency medical support agreement with Ajou University Hospital. Under this agreement, in the event of a severe emergency patient at LG Electronics' domestic business sites, a doctor helicopter will be dispatched. Severe emergency patients often face challenges in securing golden time due to distance to treatment facilities or traffic congestion.

When patients occur at business sites in the metropolitan area, the doctor helicopter will immediately transport them to the Southern Gyeonggi Trauma Center in Suwon. For business sites located in regions like Changwon, Gyeongnam and Gumi, North Gyeongsang, patients will first receive emergency treatment at nearby hospitals before being airlifted to Ajou University Hospital for optimal treatment.

LG Electronics has also established a hotline with the Southern Gyeonggi Trauma Center at Ajou University Hospital to secure golden time when severe emergency patients occur. Ajou University Hospital has received the highest rating in the regional trauma center evaluation published by the Ministry of Health and Welfare for 10 consecutive years.

In addition, LG Electronics plans to strengthen its safety accident response capabilities by conducting emergency medical training and joint emergency response drills targeting doctors, nurses, and paramedics working within the company in collaboration with Ajou University Hospital.

LG Electronics is making various efforts to create a safe working environment and raise awareness about safety among its members by establishing safety experience centers that can provide experiential safety training at its business sites. The production technology center and CS learning center located in Pyeongtaek LG Digital Park have been operating a safety experience center since 2019. In October last year, an employee safety experience center was set up in Changwon LG Smart Park, and another was established in the research building of Magok LG Science Park in February this year.

The safety experience center at LG Science Park operates a total of 18 safety-related experiential contents, including fire evacuation, the performance of safety goggles, impact of safety shoes, and reactions of chemical substances. It aims to prevent safety accidents in advance by allowing individuals to virtually experience potential safety incidents that could occur in laboratories and to minimize damage in case of emergencies. The safety experience center at LG Smart Park offers experiential content utilizing virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and robots.

Kwon Soon-il, head of the safety and environment center at LG Electronics, said, “The safety of our members is the top priority that cannot be compromised with anything,” and noted, “We have established an emergency medical support system that ensures the happy lives of employees and their families they cherish through swift treatment of severe emergency patients.”
