KT achieved the remarkable feat of winning awards from all three major global design competitions with its artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled 8K set-top box 'Genie TV Set-Top Box 4.'
KT announced on the 9th that it received an award in the product design institutional sector of the 'Red Dot Design Award 2025.' The Genie TV Set-Top Box 4 had previously won the '2024 Japan Good Design Award' and the 'iF Design Award 2025' in Germany.
KT designed this product as the 'Vibrant Project.' This approach goes beyond mere appearance, focusing on the environment that customers experience. During the design planning phase, KT discovered that 'customers find that the set-top box interferes with the interior design of their homes.' In response, KT designed the set-top box device in a simple rectangular shape resembling a speaker, changing it from a black cylindrical form, and made the product's front customizable with various materials and styles to suit the user's interior preferences.
Son Jeong-yeop, head of the Device Business Division at KT, noted, 'We aim to showcase a sensory and innovative design focused on user-centered devices.'
