LG Electronics holds the leading position in areas such as home theaters that create synergy with TVs in the overall audio market, which is worth 50 trillion won. We plan to foster the portable audio sector based on the "LG XBOOM" created in collaboration with will.i.am, aiming to achieve sales in the trillions from the audio business in a short period.

On the 7th at "Ground 220" in Yeongdeungpo District, Seoul, Lee Jeong-seok, senior vice president in charge of the audio business at LG Electronics, introduced the "LG XBOOM" created in collaboration with the world-renowned musician will.i.am. LG Electronics unveiled three new models of the XBOOM portable speakers, enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI) sound technology, on that day. To penetrate the global audio market, LG Electronics plans to offer a customized sound experience by subdividing its products into categories such as "portable audio," "wearable audio," and "home audio."

will.i.am took on the role of "designing a new experience" for the LG XBOOM. This collaboration reflects will.i.am's artistic philosophy not only in product design but also across sound and brand marketing. will.i.am explained regarding the new LG XBOOM product, "We wanted to break existing molds and imagine what a speaker should look like and what experiences it should provide."

will.i.am plans to utilize the LG XBOOM through his AI-based radio app, "Radio.FYI," which recommends news and music tailored to customer preferences and provides instant answers to inquiries through AI. will.i.am stated, "Until now, AI agents have been limited to being very rigid assistants that cannot convey human emotions," and added that he will develop an AI agent named "Persona" trained in emotional responses to be used alongside the LG XBOOM.

The three new wireless speaker models, LG XBOOM Stage 301, LG XBOOM Bounce, and LG XBOOM Grab, unveiled by LG Electronics feature artificial intelligence (AI) that analyzes the music customers are listening to and automatically adjusts the optimal sound according to the surrounding environment. The new models' "AI Sound & Lighting" function analyzes the content being played in real time and switches to the optimal sound field and customized lighting.

The "AI spatial recognition sound" function compensates for the fact that sound can be reflected or absorbed differently depending on factors such as room size, furniture placement, and wall materials. When the function is activated through the LG ThinQ app, it analyzes and adjusts indoor and outdoor environments to find the optimal sound balance. The sound is automatically adjusted based on conditions tuned by specialized audio engineers to provide balanced sound in various spaces.

Lee Jeong-seok, senior vice president in charge of the audio business at LG Electronics, noted, "Previously, LG Electronics focused on sound performance, but during the development of the LG XBOOM, we also incorporated considerations for the product's identity, design, and brand philosophy."

The high-power speaker LG XBOOM Stage 301 provides vibrant stage sound regardless of indoor or outdoor settings with its powerful output of 120W. It is equipped with a 6.5-inch woofer and a 2.5-inch mid-range driver. With a basic battery that lasts up to 12 hours and an additional detachable battery, it can be used for extended periods without interruption.

The compact speaker LG XBOOM Bounce features a "passive radiator" that amplifies bass through air vibrations, along with a "dual dome tweeter" and a "track-type woofer" to provide stereo sound even in open spaces like campsites and beaches. The passive radiator on top boasts a design that "bounces" in sync with the music, just as its name suggests.

The portable speaker LG XBOOM Grab has a cylindrical design that allows it to be mounted on bike bottle holders and similar fixtures. This product won an award at the "iF Design Award 2025," recognized as one of the top three design awards in the world.
