Samsung Electronics has been evaluated as the best corporation in addressing responsibility for human rights management in the supply chain among global information and communication technology (ICT) companies, it noted on the 6th.

According to the evaluation by the international nonprofit organization "No More Chains," Samsung Electronics scored 61 points out of 100, ranking first in the assessment of supply chain human rights management of 45 major global listed ICT companies.

"No More Chains" is an evaluation body under the United Kingdom-based NGO "Business & Human Rights Resource Centre," which assesses global corporations' supply chain human rights management and forced labor levels biennially.

The detailed evaluation items consist of 7 areas: ▲ policies and governance ▲ supply chain transparency and risk management ▲ purchasing practices ▲ recruitment ▲ workers' rights ▲ monitoring ▲ improvement measures.

Samsung Electronics improved by implementing "due diligence and grievance procedures in the lower supply chain" and "expanding due diligence for the protection of the human rights of foreign migrant workers," recording high scores in ▲ policies and governance ▲ recruitment ▲ supply chain transparency and risk management.

"No More Chains" stated, "We highly appreciate that Samsung Electronics has strengthened transparency in all areas of supply chain human rights management," adding, "In particular, it continues to make tangible improvements in preventing and managing risks related to forced labor."
