Samsung Electronics announced that it donated essential home appliances worth 1 billion won on the 6th to support residents of Gyeongbuk who are suffering from a recent catastrophic wildfire.
Samsung Electronics donated essential products for daily life, such as washing machines, refrigerators, air conditioners, and televisions, to help the affected residents regain stability and restore their daily lives as soon as possible.
Displaced individuals whose homes were completely or partially destroyed will likely reside in mobile assembly houses for an extended period, and Samsung Electronics plans to support essential home appliances for the affected residents to use in the mobile dwellings.
The donated home appliances are expected to be swiftly delivered to residents through the Korean Red Cross and Gyeongbuk Province.
Samsung Electronics Service has dispatched a disaster recovery special service team since the 28th of last month to conduct free inspections of home appliances and mobile phones for residents affected by the wildfire.
Mobile service centers were established in evacuation shelters for displaced residents in regions such as Uiseong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok, providing free inspection and repair services for their home appliances.
Samsung Electronics and seven other related companies donated 3 billion won and 1,000 disaster relief kits consisting of daily necessities, as well as 600 tents for residence, on March 26 to aid recovery from the wildfire damage in Gyeongbuk, Gyeongnam, and Ulsan.
