On the 3rd, TikTok announced that it successfully concluded the 'TikTok Live Entertainment Summit' at WeWork Samsung Station No. 2 in Gangnam, Seoul on the 2nd.
At this summit, domestic entertainment corporations attended in large numbers to explore synergies between K-entertainment and TikTok Live, and shared insights on digital-based entertainment trends.
The first speaker, Jensen Liu, the head of TikTok Live in Korea, emphasized the potential for creator growth utilizing a global user base of over 1 billion and the recommendation feed algorithm, while introducing the unique content strengths of TikTok Live.
Lee Hee-jeong, senior manager of live operations at TikTok Korea, noted, "The global live market is growing at an average of 20% annually, and TikTok Live is establishing itself as the next-generation entertainment platform," and added, "It provides a space for stars and fans to meet in real time."
TikTok Live can implement various content formats beyond simple fan communication streaming, such as production announcements and global auditions, and it is noted as a differentiator for its real-time subtitle translation feature, allowing communication without language barriers.
Through TikTok Live, various formats of content, including 'Yoo In Radio,' 'Time Turner,' and 'K-Pop Returns,' are being produced, and active collaborations with entertainment agencies continue.
Jensen Liu stated, "TikTok Live has rapidly grown in all aspects—creators, partner companies, and revenue—over the past two and a half years," and noted, "In 2025, we will further strengthen real-time communication-centered content, such as global auditions and K-pop showcases, evolving into the next-generation global entertainment platform."
