“Summarize the trends in the PC market.”

When asked of the AI assistant "AI Companion" included in HP's business AI PC products, the shipment volumes of PCs over the past three years and the market shares of PC manufacturers were compiled into a table in 3 seconds. During video conferences using the poly camera pro feature, the AI automatically detects the user's movement and adjusts the view to ensure the user does not stray from the center of the screen by changing the camera angle. Data stored on the PC is protected in real-time by HP's own security system, "Wolf Security," which uses AI technology for cyber attack analysis.

On the 3rd, HP Korea held a press conference at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, and unveiled its lineup of business AI PC products. Kim Dae-hwan, CEO of HP Korea, noted, "What HP focuses on in the face of rapid changes in AI and automation technology and work environments is undoubtedly the way of work in the future," adding, "Our ultimate goal is to help customers feel the benefits of AI-based solutions in real work environments, going beyond simply selling technology."

The AI PC products unveiled that day include the "HP EliteBook Ultra G1i 14-inch" and the "HP EliteBook x Flip G1i 14-inch." The newly unveiled products will feature the "HP AI Companion," which won an innovation award at the world’s largest IT exhibition, "CES 2025." It implements functions such as "Query," which searches for new topics and information based on ChatGPT-4o, "Analyze," which analyzes and summarizes local documents, and "Execute," which allows users to easily adjust PC settings with simple commands. Both products are equipped with the SureView 5 feature, which ensures the screen is visible only to the user when someone else is detected behind them.

Among the two models in the EliteBook lineup, the "HP EliteBook Ultra G1i 14-inch" is equipped with AI video conferencing solutions, studio-grade recording capabilities, and a 9-megapixel camera. The "HP EliteBook x Flip G1i 14-inch" can be used in laptop, tablet, and tent modes, allowing users to adapt it to their work needs. It can also be used for direct writing when paired with the "HP Rechargeable Active Pen."

Security features have also been enhanced. HP's proprietary security system, Wolf Security, applied in the new products analyzes new cyber attack patterns in real-time with AI to respond swiftly. An HP representative explained, "By enabling simple deployment and operation of security solutions without complex IT infrastructure, the burden of security management will be reduced."

So Byeong-hong, Executive Vice President of Personal Systems at HP Korea, commented, "It is expected that demand for general-purpose PCs will not differ significantly from last year this year, but demand for business AI PCs is expected to increase, which will lead to a substantial rise in supply starting from the second half of the year. Since the core of the business AI PC market lies in "productivity, collaboration, and security," HP has also revamped its product portfolio to strengthen these features."

On this day, HP also unveiled two mobile workstations equipped with AMD Ryzen AI Max Pro processors to meet the demand for high-performance computing for professionals. This allows users to perform 3D design, render high-spec graphic projects, and work on large language models (LLM) simultaneously.

Executive Vice President So stated, "The PC market can be classified into three categories: 'Next Gen AI PCs' supporting neural processing units (NPU) with over 40 TOPS (trillion operations per second), 'AI-enabled PCs' that fall below that level, and products that are not AI PCs." Contrary to previous forecasts that more than 50% of all PCs would be AI PCs by 2027, it is now projected that this number will reach 60%.
