Samsung Electronics announced on the 3rd that its 2025 line of Samsung TVs, including Neo QLED, OLED, and The Frame, as well as 2024 and 2025 models of monitors, will support viewing HDR10+ content on the Netflix app.
HDR10+ is a high-quality video standard technology led by Samsung Electronics that optimizes brightness and contrast ratio for each scene, enhancing the dimensionality of the video and supporting accurate color representation.
Netflix provides users with high-quality HDR10+ content using the AV1 codec, an international standard video compression technology.
Samsung Electronics plans to increase its partnerships, including with Netflix, to allow users to enjoy HDR10+ supported content across various streaming services.
To expand the HDR10+ ecosystem, Samsung Electronics established HDR10+ Technology LLC in 2018 and is conducting HDR10+ certification, logo program operations, and providing technical support for content production in collaboration with 170 member companies worldwide.
Son Tae-yong, vice president of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business, said, "We will continue to innovate technology in cooperation with various partners to ensure customers can enjoy the best viewing experience as we expand the HDR10+ ecosystem."
