Beam Mobility, a personal mobility (PM) Gong Yoo service corporation, announced on the 1st that it will undertake an industry-academic cooperation project on the theme of 'PM safety' in collaboration with the Advertising and Public Relations Department of Hanyang University.
Beam Mobility aims to establish a culture and awareness of safety among the young generation by seeking practical solutions regarding the use of PM and safety alongside the 20-something students, who make up the largest proportion of its user base.
This industry-academic cooperation is part of Professor Han Mi-jeong's major course titled 'IC-PBL (Industry Coupled Problem Solving Learning) Strategic Planning Theory' at Hanyang University's Advertising and Public Relations Department. This course focuses on a practice-oriented approach to all processes of strategic communication, operating through analysis, planning, and proposals based on marketing or reputation challenges faced by actual corporations.
Students will plan campaign strategies aimed at improving safety awareness regarding PM, including electric scooters, over the course of one semester. A key task is to derive measures to enhance the awareness and operational effectiveness of Beam Mobility's own training program, the 'Beam Safety Academy.'
The Beam Safety Academy is an educational program jointly developed by Beam Mobility and various industry experts to spread a safe shared scooter culture. It operates in cooperation with local governments in major cities where Beam Mobility services are available, educating proper PM riding and parking methods. Safety measures and ideas presented by students, who are the actual users, will be reviewed for feasibility and applied to the Beam Mobility safety program in the future.
A representative of Beam Mobility noted, 'This industry-academic cooperation has great significance in that it seeks awareness and solutions regarding safety together with student PM users, preparing alternatives.' They added, 'Beam Mobility will establish PM order, expand safety awareness, and improve services through practical communication with students, local communities, and various other communities, so that the PM industry can grow healthily.'
