On the 1st, Tokyo Electron (TEL) Korea, a global semiconductor equipment company, announced that Chairman Won Je-hyung has been promoted to CEO and Tae-woo Noh has been appointed as the new president.
Chairman Won received his Ph.D. in wide-bandgap-semiconductor physics from Osaka University in Japan and has been serving as CEO of TEL Korea since July 2017 after holding various positions in the semiconductor industry.
Chairman Won is noted for expanding research and development bases to quickly respond to customer demands and for contributing to the development of excellent process technologies and reliable service provision.
The new president Noh joined TEL Korea in 1994 and has accumulated over 30 years of experience in fields such as process and sales, demonstrating excellent leadership and management expertise as a vice president in 2023, leading the company's growth.
Chairman Won said, 'As the representative of a corporation leading the South Korean semiconductor equipment industry, I will continuously strive for technological innovation, while also focusing on industry-academia collaboration and discovering local talent.'
Currently, TEL Korea has over 2,000 employees, and its sales exceeded 1.4 trillion won last year.
