The artificial intelligence (AI) service platform corporation Wrtn announced on the 31st that it has secured an additional investment of 830 million won, completing a series B (the stage of actively developing a business) investment totaling 1.08 billion won.

The cumulative investment raised by Wrtn is estimated to be around 1.3 billion won. According to Wrtn, it is the first time that a startup in the AI service platform field, excluding large language models (LLM) and semiconductors, has exceeded a cumulative investment of 1 billion won.

Wrtn raised 25 billion won in a pre-series B investment in June of last year. In this new investment, Goodwater Capital, which is participating for the first time, is the lead investor, while existing investors BRV Capital Management and Capstone Partners are also involved. Wrtn plans to launch its AI character chat service "Crack" as a separate app and web service on the 3rd of next month.

Wrtn CEO Lee Se-young said, "Since the founding, Wrtn has aimed to provide everyday AI services that interact with the public rather than being just laboratory AI," and noted, "By continuously enhancing AI services to be easier and more convenient for the public, we will grow into a central platform representing the AI era."
