The Korea Communications Standards Commission decided to take corrective action against 'MediStaff,' which is accused of having abetted the dissemination of personal information of doctors who either did not participate in or returned from collective actions opposing the government's medical school expansion policy.

On the 28th, the Commission held a subcommittee meeting to review an urgent request for the closure of the doctor and medical student community MediStaff submitted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

Attendees of the deliberation included MediStaff representative Ki Dong-hoon and officials from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The Commission demanded MediStaff delete posts under investigation for the so-called 'medical community blacklist' allegations and revoke the accounts of malicious users. It also required continued deletion of information that infringes on medical students' right to study and causes social confusion, and to strengthen self-regulation of bulletin boards.

The MediStaff site revealed the personal information of residents who have not left the medical field or who returned, under the title 'List of True Doctors.'

The police are currently investigating allegations that MediStaff abetted the 'medical community blacklist' incident, conducting a search and seizure at its headquarters in Gangnam, Seoul, on the 10th.

The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced plans to legislate a partial amendment to the medical law that includes suspending the qualifications of medical personnel, including doctors who illegally disclosed personal information of colleagues, for one year.
