SOOP announced on the 28th that it appointed Choi Young-woo as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) through resolutions from the regular shareholders' meeting and board of directors, and transitioned to a dual CEO system with Seo Su-gil and Choi Young-woo.
SOOP explained that this restructuring is a decision aimed at enhancing the execution of its mid- to long-term strategy to actively pursue global expansion and seek new growth opportunities.
Seo will focus on securing future growth drivers centered on new businesses and projects. Choi will establish and execute strategies aimed at expanding business-to-business (B2B) partnerships. Former CEO Jeong Chan-yong will assume the role of senior advisor to support external relations and the expansion of cooperation.
Choi noted, "We are expanding content sharing between domestic and international platforms while broadening the foundation for connecting the SOOP ecosystem." He added, "Based on my experience designing global business and content strategies, I will continuously enhance the scalability and efficiency of the platform to ensure that domestic and international streamers and users can enjoy substantial opportunities."
