LG CNS announced on the 19th that it will enter the North American logistics automation market with warehouse automation logistics robots.
LG CNS participated in the world's largest logistics automation exhibition, Promat 2025, held from March 17-20 (local time) at McCormick Place in Chicago, USA. The company unveiled its warehouse automation logistics robot, the 3D mobile shuttle, and smart logistics solutions at the exhibition.
The newly developed 3D mobile shuttle by LG CNS is an automated robot that transports and stores items within warehouse shelves using dozens or hundreds of shuttle robots.
Existing equipment only moves left and right, which restricts item movement and inefficiently uses warehouse space by installing shelves in every aisle.
According to LG CNS, the 3D mobile shuttle can move freely in all four directions—up, down, left, and right—allowing for efficient transportation and storage of items. LG CNS noted that mathematical optimization technology has been applied to the 3D mobile shuttle to maximize logistics operational efficiency. The company stated that this technology can reduce warehouse usage area by more than 20%.
LG CNS emphasized that the 3D mobile shuttle is designed to safely transport not only general cargo but also cylindrical cargo such as automobile batteries. Corporations in various fields, including manufacturing, distribution, and automotive, can choose the type and material of the shuttle robots when adopting the 3D mobile shuttle.
LG CNS also showcased smart logistics solutions that can integrate logistics automation equipment and heterogeneous robots. This solution supports integrated control functions such as real-time monitoring and remote control of automation equipment, optimal route management for autonomous mobile robots, traffic management, and monitoring.
At this exhibition, LG CNS operated a joint booth with Bear Robotics, a U.S. robotics specialist and partner for autonomous mobile robots supporting factory logistics connections, and Thira Robotics, a smart factory solution company that partners in automation projects for heavy cargo transportation.
Lee Jun-ho, executive director of the smart logistics and city division at LG CNS, said, "LG CNS is developing various logistics robots to enhance our smart logistics capabilities," adding, "In the future, we will provide customized logistics robots and smart logistics solutions for North American customers to support them in successfully implementing logistics automation."
