LG Uplus announced on the 10th that it will jointly promote the 'AX Alliance' strategy to create a domestic AI cloud ecosystem in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), the global leader in cloud.

The two companies agreed to collaborate in various fields, including the development of a Korean-style sovereign cloud, AI platforms and solutions, and AI consulting. As the first step, they will begin joint development of the 'Korean-style sovereign cloud' to support the AX transition of public, financial, and advanced corporations in the country. Sovereign clouds comply with the laws and regulations of specific countries and provide cloud services that protect data sovereignty, enabling corporations to strengthen their data control.

In addition, they plan to jointly develop the 'Work Agent' to optimize the small language model 'ixi-GEN' developed by LG Uplus and the large language model 'Nova' from AWS, helping domestic corporations quickly adopt AI services. The Work Agent will make it easier for corporations with limited AI capabilities to introduce AI services.

LG Uplus plans to enhance the AICC utilizing AI-based predictive recommendation algorithms and AWS's platform, and to develop the 'Customer Agent.' Furthermore, they will collaborate with AWS's AI consulting organization, the Generative AI Innovation Center (GenAIIC), to act as a consulting partner specializing in data security and sovereign cloud in the future.

Kwon Yong-hyun, head of the corporate division at LG Uplus, noted, 'By collaborating with AWS, we will address the AX transition issues of domestic corporations and continuously strengthen our competitiveness by partnering with global leading businesses.'
