Samsung Electronics announced on the 5th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Overseas Construction Association to strengthen the bidding competitiveness of domestic construction corporations and expand Samsung Electronics' overseas B2B business.
The signing ceremony held at the Korea Overseas Construction Association in Jung-gu, Seoul, was attended by Hong Beom-seok, vice president of the Samsung Electronics B2B Integrated Offering Center, and Han Man-hee, chairman of the Korea Overseas Construction Association.
Samsung Electronics plans to assist in expanding the overseas export paths of domestic construction corporations, reaching over 160 countries, by utilizing 'SmartThings Pro' and the Korea Overseas Construction Association's 'Converged K-City Platform.'
'SmartThings Pro' by Samsung Electronics is an AI B2B solution that integrates various devices, solutions, and services, ranging from residential facilities to office buildings and commercial spaces, providing customized energy savings and space management.
The Korea Overseas Construction Association's 'Converged K-City Platform' is a new service that supports domestic corporations in developing differentiated cities that incorporate K-smart technology for overseas projects, scheduled to be unveiled this month.
Samsung Electronics and the Korea Overseas Construction Association plan to expand various supports, including joint marketing with overseas corporations, bidding assistance through visits to Samsung Electronics' global B2B integrated showroom, and the issuance of certification marks for the application of Samsung Electronics' AI B2B solutions.
Domestic construction corporations have now been able to enhance their bidding competitiveness by applying Samsung Electronics' air conditioning, home appliances, signage, and more in overseas urban development projects.
Vice President Hong noted, 'This agreement will not be a simple memorandum of understanding but will serve as a crucial turning point for domestic corporations' overseas expansion,' adding, 'We will actively pursue not only the development of overseas markets for domestic corporations but also the global expansion of Samsung Electronics' B2B business, including AI solutions.'
Samsung Electronics is expanding its business into various B2B areas by equipping Kia PBV vehicles and smart modular construction markets, as well as smart apartment solutions, with 'SmartThings Pro.'
