Hong Beom-sik, president of LG Uplus, directly inspected Samsung Electronics' first extended reality (XR) headset "Project Infinite" and expressed interest, noting it is "a name that shows potential."

On the 4th, Hong visited the Samsung Electronics booth at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, and said this while viewing exhibits with Roh Tae-moon, president of Samsung Electronics Mobile Experience (MX).

When Hong pointed to the headset and asked, "How much does it weigh?" Roh replied, "The weight distribution is more important than the exact weight, as it is distributed toward the forehead, making it feel much more comfortable than the actual weight." When asked if it causes dizziness when worn, Roh stated, "Dizziness occurs due to the time lag in recognition by the display and sensors. However, with Project Infinite, the display quality has improved significantly, and the accuracy of the sensors has increased."

He added, "By applying multimodal artificial intelligence (AI), the external camera recognizes the scene as people see it, allowing for voice feedback appropriate to the scene."

Hong also expressed interest in the pet customized management features utilizing the Galaxy AI ecosystem. By automatically recognizing pet breeds through AI, it can be represented with characters on Galaxy devices and provide real-time status updates. When applying the SmartTag tool, the pet's walking routes and activities are automatically recorded and saved.

Hong noted, "While we said we center on people, Samsung also takes care of animals, so it seems Samsung is one step ahead again."

Additionally, Hong responded that life has become much more convenient while observing the Google Gemini feature installed on smartphones and the newly added "Now Brief" feature in the Galaxy S25 series. While looking at the image eraser function of the Galaxy S25 camera, he remarked, "It's quite natural," adding that he would like to try it out.

After concluding his visit, Hong hinted at cooperation with Samsung Electronics and shared brief remarks. He said, "If you help us a lot with ixi-O, I hope we can align well and achieve good results together."
