KT announced on March 2 that it will participate in MWC25, held in Barcelona, Spain, from March 3 to 6, showcasing AI technologies that will change daily life in South Korea.
With the theme of 'K-STREET,' KT has set up an exhibition hall where visitors can walk through Korean streets and experience special moments blended with AI technology. It will introduce advanced technology and culture from Korea to global visitors in seven themed spaces that combine K-Culture and AI.
The KT exhibition hall is located within Hall 4 of the main exhibition area at MWC25, specifically in the GSMA theme hall 'Connected Industry,' and will be expanded to 383 square meters, which is 1.7 times larger than last year.
At the entrance of the KT exhibition hall, a video reinterpreting familiar aspects of daily life in South Korea through AI will welcome visitors. In 'K-Office,' which represents a workspace, an AI agent solution that utilizes KT's AI model to assist with work efficiency will be unveiled. Visitors will have the opportunity to directly experience various corporate AI agent functions such as wireless market analysis, efficient GPU allocation, monitoring carbon emissions, and knowledge recommendations for customer consultants.
In the future stadium 'K-Stadium,' visitors can experience an announcer for games that features AI real-time translation technology developed by KT DS. Additionally, a space has been arranged to enjoy a welcome message from 'AI Lee Kang-in' and customized cheering songs produced by AI for KT Wiz.
'K-Pocha,' which recreates Korean street food stalls, showcases AI-powered pattern analysis technology. When products are ordered through the table order service 'KT HiOrder' and paid via the BC Card Paybook app, AI predicts the customer's next actions and recommends related products.
'K-House,' inspired by Korean apartments, showcases a smart home environment integrated with AI technology. Genie TV adjusts lighting, curtains, and air purifiers according to personal preferences and optimizes indoor conditions through noise detection technology.
Technologies to create safe streets will also be presented. Various security technologies, including 'EL SAR,' a 5G precise positioning technology, anti-smishing and spam blocking technology, and AI video analysis solutions will be unveiled. KT will also introduce the AI technologies of its partner company, 'Mobaheel,' while additionally setting up the KT AICT Win-Win Cooperation Hall in Hall 8, helping KT's partners expand globally.
The 'K-Pop' stage offers an experience where AI-generated dancers create a stage together with the audience, featuring K-Pop tracks from GENIE MUSIC as the background. Global visitors will be able to experience Korean culture in various ways, such as 'Moazin,' which provides over 1,600 types of magazines tailored by AI.
The 'K-Lab', where future network technologies will be showcased, will introduce KT's network vision and the core technologies targeted by KT 6G. Visitors can explore the vision for next-generation networks that KT is preparing, including 6G network technology, AI network technology, disaster recovery technology, and quantum communication technology.
The KT 6G being implemented here will evolve into an infrastructure that utilizes technologies such as satellites, AI, and clouds, offering differentiated customer value with transmission speeds, latency, network resilience, and coverage that are different from the current standards.
The communication platform for various layers of non-terrestrial networks (NTN), including low Earth orbit and geostationary satellites and High Altitude Platform Systems (HAPS), will be configured in an overlay form, showcasing three-dimensional spatial coverage integrated with existing terrestrial networks. This aims to realize ubiquitous connectivity, ensuring uninterrupted communication services anytime and anywhere, according to KT.
An evolution into AI networks will also be showcased. This will include technologies that analyze customer usage patterns to enhance base station performance, as well as a roadmap for semantic communication research in which AI understands intentions and context to propose necessary services on its own.
The exhibition hall will allow visitors to experience next-generation disaster recovery technology based on multi-cloud, which maintains connectivity even in disaster situations. This technology provides stable communication services to customers even during major network failures through AI dynamic resource allocation, real-time monitoring, and automated recovery mechanisms.
Quantum cryptography technologies aimed at enhancing the security of future networks will also be introduced. By combining quantum cryptographic key technology with confidential computing technologies, which encrypt stored data and data in use to prevent unauthorized access, digital information and the network itself will be quantized. This is intended to create a secure cloud environment that prevents customer information theft, according to KT.
Yoon Tae-sik, executive director of KT's brand strategy, noted, 'As Korea's representative AICT company, KT will showcase the global competitiveness of K-AI at MWC25,' adding, 'We will continue to expand branding programs that allow customers to enjoy and experience AI in their daily lives.'
