NHN Cloud announced on the 7th that Minister of Science and ICT Yoo Sang-im visited the 'NHN Cloud Gwangju AI (artificial intelligence) Data Center' as part of the 'Minister of Science and ICT Relay On-Site Visit for Leap to AI G3 Powerhouse' on the 6th.
This visit aimed to review the achievements of the Gwangju AI Data Center as a key infrastructure for strengthening national AI competitiveness and to enhance collaboration with key stakeholders and local AI corporations. The event was attended by Minister of Science and ICT Yoo Sang-im, representatives from Gwangju Metropolitan City, the Artificial Intelligence Industry Convergence Office (AICA), and local AI corporations.
As the operator of the Gwangju AI Data Center, NHN Cloud announced the current status of the data center operations and introduced its key facilities and technical capabilities. Opened in October 2023, the Gwangju AI Data Center is positioned as an AI-specialized data center with 88.5 petaflops of computing power and a storage capacity of 107 petabytes. In particular, it has established the largest GPU farm in the country by incorporating AI accelerators, including NVIDIA H100 GPUs (graphics processing units), to support AI model training and research and development.
NHN Cloud plans to play a key role in realizing the country as a major AI power through continuous technological innovation and infrastructure expansion. It also aims to provide opportunities for utilizing the data center to universities, research institutions, and small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in AI technology research and development, contributing to the activation of the domestic AI ecosystem.
