Kakao announced on the 22nd that it has launched a congestion service for the KakaoMap Airport Railroad.
Kakao partnered with the Airport Railroad to enhance the convenience of passengers using the Airport Railroad with this new service. Kakao increased the accuracy of the information through subway line data provided by KakaoMap and a weight measurement system developed by the Airport Railroad for each carriage.
Users can search for station names on the Airport Railroad line using the KakaoMap mobile app. Congestion information is displayed in four levels: free (blue), normal (green), caution (orange), and crowded (red). "Free" indicates that the passageway is spacious, while "crowded" means that it is so congested that movement is impossible, providing real-time congestion levels by color for each Airport Railroad carriage.
In addition, travelers visiting Incheon International Airport or Gimpo Airport during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday can easily check venue information within the airport via the indoor map service on KakaoMap. The KakaoMap indoor map is a service that provides information on stores and amenities by floor in large and complex areas.
Alongside this, Kakao will install a "Giant Chunsik" sculpture made with the popular character Chunsik from KakaoFriends on the 3rd floor of Incheon International Airport's Terminal 2 until March 31, and operate a photo zone. The exact location can be confirmed through the indoor map service on KakaoMap.
The KakaoMap Airport Railroad congestion and indoor map services are available after updating the KakaoMap mobile app to the latest version (5.23.0 or later).
Jo Seong-yoon, leader of Kakao Local Map, noted, "To provide convenience to users preparing for travel during the Lunar New Year holiday and public holidays, we have introduced various services." He added, "In the future, we plan to enhance the service to allow users to easily grasp diverse information through KakaoMap alone."
