LG NOVA will set up an exhibition hall at Eureka Park with the theme "Innovation is here, innovating together" at CES 2025, the world's largest IT and electronics exhibition, starting from 7th this month (local time) in Las Vegas, USA.
The exhibition will feature over 10 startups at the stage of solidifying collaboration with LG Electronics in future industry areas such as health tech, clean tech, artificial intelligence (AI), and open innovation.
The health tech sector includes PrimeFocus Health, MetaOptima, and Relief AI, while the clean tech sector comprises Climberative, and in the AI sector, Roll AI and VersaWare, and in open innovation, CareCam and Canary Speech.
This year's CES will particularly unveil the global startup PrimeFocus Health, which emerged from LG Electronics. PrimeFocus Health is a startup that was spun off from LG NOVA's healthcare new business organization in the first half of last year. It provides care solutions to assist with the early diagnosis and post-management of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.
Since gaining independence in May last year, it has been developing its business centered in West Virginia, collaborating with healthcare startups selected and fostered by LG NOVA. At this CES, it will unveil an artificial intelligence-based software as a service (SaaS) platform. It plans to showcase innovations in telemedicine using a tablet PC as a consolidation between medical staff and patients, making it easily accessible to everyone.
Operating from Silicon Valley, LG NOVA was established at the end of 2020 to discover new business models and accelerate collaboration with startups. Starting next year, it conducts "challenges for the future" annually targeting global startups to explore and foster startups with innovative ideas and seek new business opportunities.
Recently, it has invited Mitch Carmichael, who previously served as Secretary of the West Virginia Department of Economic Development, as chief advisor, continuously strengthening its competitiveness by attracting experts from various fields such as economics, management, and technology. Based on the 3B strategy (Build, Buy, Borrow), it intends to engage with innovative corporations in the global big tech battleground to incorporate talent and technology and solidify future growth engines.
Lee Seok-woo, Vice President of LG Electronics North America Innovation Center, noted, "This year's CES will be an occasion to showcase LG NOVA's vision and efforts in pursuing innovation for a better life for all through boundless partnerships."
