Kakao announced on the 16th that it will change the name of its service to 'Talk Deal' six years after launching 'KakaoTalk Shopping' in 2018.
Talk Deal is expected to expand various deal benefits, including existing time deals, standalone products, and pre-launch items. As before, users can access Talk Deal along with KakaoTalk Gift and Kakao Shopping Live services in the KakaoTalk shopping tab.
The change of the service name is anticipated to mark a step forward for Kakao Commerce, coinciding with the restructuring of the KakaoTalk shopping tab on the 10th. The KakaoTalk shopping tab home will recommend various products across multiple displays, such as 'Daily New Talk Deals', 'Talk Deals You Might Like', and 'Currently Discounted'. Additionally, the shopping information, including purchase history, recently viewed items, and saved products, has been reorganized for users to easily check in one place, enhancing convenience.
To celebrate the name change, a promotion titled 'Goodbye Shopping, Now Full-Scale Talk Deal' will run from 5 p.m. on the 16th to the 22nd for a week. Approximately 800 Talk Deal products, including today's recommended deals, year-end settlement, and fashion beauty special exhibition items, can receive a 10% discount (up to 10,000 won, no limit on the number of times) when paid with KakaoPay money. Additionally, users can receive up to 10,000 points (with a maximum of 3 times per person) randomly by sharing the promotion page with friends.
A Kakao Commerce official noted, 'This change is an effort to provide users with a more convenient and enjoyable shopping experience,' and added, 'We plan to create a service that allows users to be more satisfied by leveraging the strengths of Talk Deal.'
