Lisa Su, the CEO of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), has been named 'CEO of the Year' by Time magazine.

Time announced on the 10th (local time) that Lisa Su, who has led the success of the American semiconductor company AMD, has been chosen as this year's CEO.

Time explained, "AMD is the top corporation in the area of central processing units (CPUs) that power personal computers and data centers," adding that it "designs graphics processing units (GPUs) that create and run artificial intelligence (AI) programs like ChatGPT."

Time noted that the stock price of AMD was around $3 when Lisa Su began leading the company 10 years ago, but it has since risen to about $140, and that it surpassed its competitor Intel in 2022. However, it pointed out that AMD still shows a gap in the GPU market compared to NVIDIA, led by CEO Jensen Huang. Currently, NVIDIA holds over 90% market share in the GPU market.

Lisa Su, a Taiwanese American, moved to the United States with her parents and studied electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Similar to Lisa Su, Taiwanese American Jensen Huang was also named one of Time's 100 most influential people of the year.
