A cheating scandal involving a prominent corporate executive has emerged during a concert by the globally renowned band Coldplay.
According to foreign media including the New York Post on the 16th (local time), a couple was captured by a camera that was showing the audience during Coldplay's concert held the previous day in Boston, Massachusetts. The scene depicted Andy Byron, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASTK, and Christine Cabot, Chief People Officer (CPO) of the same company, engaged in a back hug.
Upon seeing themselves on the scoreboard, they were startled and immediately pulled away. Cabot turned away while covering her face with both hands, and Byron squatted down to evade the camera.
Coldplay's vocalist Chris Martin jokingly said, "The two could either be having an affair or are just extremely shy." He added, "Goodness, I hope we haven't done anything bad."
The media reported, "Byron is married to Mary Kerrygan Byron, and Cabot is known to have divorced in 2022," adding, "It is unclear if Cabot has since remarried." The media also quoted an employee who had worked at Byron's corporation, saying, "Messages from former employees are pouring in," and that "everyone is laughing, enjoying watching him being exposed. He was a toxic boss."
The video from the Coldplay concert quickly spread through social media platforms such as TikTok and X (formerly Twitter) under the title "exposed affair by mistake," also revealing the identities of both individuals. ASTK, known as an artificial intelligence (AI) data infrastructure startup, is currently valued at approximately $1.3 billion (about 1.8 trillion won).
Byron stated when hiring Cabot in November last year, "Her exceptional leadership and talent management skills, along with her proactiveness in personal strategy, will play a key role in our company's growth." Neither Byron nor Cabot has made an official comment regarding the affair allegations to date.
